The Los Santos Police Department is an agency in Los Santos which aims to protect it's citizens. They take care of the streets, stop violence and of course most importantly ensure that their civilians are safe.
RANK STRUCTURE
Ranks in the Police Department are very important to every single officer, the more higher rank means more respect!
Cadet : This is where the beginning of your journey shall begin, serving our city. You will start as a cadet (R0) and you will work your way up. During this trial period you will be carefully examined and tested to see if you're fit for our department, if you pass this stage you will then be promoted to a higher rank. During your cadet stage you will realize that you're very limited in what you can do, so make sure that you work hard and get these restrictions removed!
Rules regarding Cadets:
- Cadets may not Patrol on their own
- Cadets must not use the /dept radio
- Cadets may not /su a civilian without the permission of a higher rank (R1+)
- Cadets may only use the LSPD Cruiser vehicle unless permission is given from a higher rank (R4+)
- Cadets may not go off duty unless permission is given (R4+)

Police Officer : At this stage in your career you will now be classed as a Police Officer of Los Santos. At this time your main duty will now be to fight off criminals and patrol the streets. You will perform basic duties such as interviewing suspects and witnesses; writing reports;responding to radio calls;monitoring any suspicious activity on the streets; and responding to the questions of civilians.

Sergeant : After being examined by the High Command, you may be promoted to a sergeant. At this phase you shall be invited into the H.C Division (High Command) and at this point you shall be classed as a trusted member of PD. As a Sergeant your main job will be handling officer files;interviewing civilians that are interested in joining the department and much more!

Captain : Upon completion of your Police Officer phase, you may be promoted to a captain. Captains have full control over the department when the Deputy and Chief are both out of town. A captain is responsible for inspecting and overseeing what goes on within the department when a high rank isn't available in town.

Deputy Chief of Police: The Deputy Chief Of Police (DCOP) is assigned to perform all the tasks that the Chief may perform, They have complete control over everyone in the department apart from the Chief himself.

Chief Of Police: The Chief of Police(COP) is the Highest Ranking throughout the Police Department. The COP is responsible for planning,good administration, and operation of the entire Police Department. The COP directs,plans and coordinates the officers on how they can reduce the crimes in the city.
